Echoes

Following the Holocaust, one of the darkest chapters in human history, hundreds of survivors began new lives in Cincinnati. These portraits are not just records of survival, but of resilience, memory, and the quiet presence of history in everyday life. Inspired by my own discovery that some of my extended family perished in the Holocaust, I sought to learn from those who endured. The people in these images are educators, neighbors, and storytellers — living connections to a history that must not be forgotten. A monograph of this series was published in 2026.
